Imagine a date between the best sommeliers of the world attending a wine presentation. The difference between show and oenology is thin…
The first wine which embarks upon is Christian Dior cuvée. The reactions are immediate. The sommelier Vogue affirms: “Its grain is really enjoyable, with a remarkable constitution. It’s delicate like a lace but starts to be at the end.” Then, the sommelier Glamour retorts: “Yes it’s lace, but really delicate and elegant, with a feminine style. I love !!!”
The opinions differ, but the second one, the cuvée Jen-Paul Gaultier, could reach a consensus.
The sommelier Cosmopolitan starts: “I like its constitution, very stuffy ! It is rich and balanced, giving a sensation of intensity and fullness.” The sommelier Elle confirms: “A beautiful basis giving a full and structured hang.” Unanimously praised, this is the turn of Yves Saint Laurent wine to appear. The sommelier Marie-Claire exclaims: “It’s smooth, soft with a lot of lightness. So, it’s silk !” Almost agree, the sommelier Grazia adds: “More than silk, I like more its shimmering side, which remembers me the taffeta“.
For the moment, it’s almost a flawless in this show…until the presentation of the cuvée Donatella Versace.
Sommelier Madame Figaro: “???”
Sommelier Citizen: “This is drinkable ?”
Sommelier L’Officiel: “This is wine ?”
Well, I tried, it wasn’t work ! May be the last one will reassure everybody. The n°5: Chanel. Everyone goes into ecstasies in front of this wine, and only one intervention summarises the common feeling. Sommelier Muteen: “It’s elegant, heady to the nose and in the mouth it’s full of flexibility and creamy, with a touch of coco… It’s velvet ! “ Then, it’s not so hard to speak about fashion !
