We make wine from grapes: that’s an evidence…or not ! Between traditions, beliefs and threats, here is 3 strange wines…
1) The young mouses wine
The next time that you suffer from asthma, liver or skin problem, ask to your pharmacy a “young mouses wine”. Absurd idea ? Not particularly in China or South Korea. So, the young mouse doesn’t ferment but to give a taste of “je ne sais quoi” to the rice wine, some babies mouses, just emerging with closed eyes, are drowned in the bottle for a year. According to the appreciation notes, the taste won’t win the next medal to general contest of Paris, but if you like the originality and can keep your calm, direction Beijing !
2) The gull wine
Who says Inuits, says Arctic Circle, says cold, says find the heat ! Then, these men from the North found a way to do it: the gull. This one is soaked in a bottle of water and fermented to the sun for an indeterminate duration. The drunkenness would be to the date and the Inuits warmed !
3) The tiger wine
Last november, an article from Maxisciences revealed that the business of “wine tiger” is still alive in China. Indeed, besides of it skin and its claws, the tiger is starved to produce this weird drink, from the carcass of the animal, fermented for many months in the rice alcohol. Even if this business (about bones of tiger) is forbidden in the country since 1993, many patients ask for it to cure arthiritis and rheumatism. According to the EIA (Environment Investigation Agency), the chinese government would know, and bottles of this beverage sold, at least, 150€ in some livestock farms, leaving deliberately tigers starved to death to recover the carcass.
Then, the International Union for Conservation of Nature reminds that the population of this feline counted 100 000 representatives in 1900 and only 3500 today. No comment !
Mais ils sont horribles ces drinks à base de souriceaux et de carcasse de tigre! Beurkkkk pas pour moi , j’ai le cœur trop sensible!
