It’s not easy to find everytime a winecellar, close to the house. And to avoid the wines standardized of the supermarket, the web is a precious ally. This is the best wine websites…by themes ! Or rather my best websites 😉
1) The most universal: Idealwine !
Became THE reference of the web commerce, this site offers more than 10 000 bottles per day, but it gives the quote of more than 60 000 references too !!! So, fix purchase or auction, there are wines for everybody and all the purses.
Bonus: you can sell your bottles.
2) The most naturally organics: La Cave des Papilles and Vinisat !
If you want to limit your rate of sulphites in your body, the Cave des Papilles, which has its cellar in rue Daguerre in Paris, offers more than 1200 references of organics and naturals wines on its website. Concerning Vinisat, it’s exclusively naturals wines…and no less than 1000 bottles to put in your throat ! c’est exclusivement des vins naturels…et pas moins de 1000 boutanches à se mettre dans le gosier !
Common bonus: a section “Winegrowers” to know a little bit more these defenders of the nature.
3) The more between these two: Vins étonnants !
From the homepage, the menu is clear and detailed: “all the wines”, “without added sulphites”, “sulphites very rlimited”, “organics wines”, “wines in biodynamie”. So, you chose your wines, depending of your thinking 😉
Bonus: a section “by types of originalities” never seen on others websites: “experimental cepages”, “authorisation refused”,…
4) Rare and old wines: SoDivin !
For the pleasure, for the hedonists, for the collector, … then, for a precise wish, SoDivin is here ! You chose the vintage and the website offers. So, you can find a Porto Hunt’s of 1735, for the modest rum of 17 900 € 😉 With more than 5000 bottles in reserve, no need to wait 10 years to drink your treasure !
Bonus: 2 sections “exceptional wine” and “legendary wine” to quickly target your search.
5) Wines by areas !
– a desire of Bordeaux, hurry in Made in Bordeaux ! From less of 10€ to hundreds of euros, it’s a choice between 500 references. The search is precise and fast: you falled for a Pauillac 5e cru classé ? No problem, the website offers you to refine your search.
– rather Bourgogne, then 1000bourgognes is for you ! You chose your wine by AOC or state with 80 referenced winegrowers. No need to pay a fortune for quality wine: the first price is 8€. Who said that Burgundy is expensive ?
– you read my blog too much and now you have a weakness for the Rhone Valley: without debate, it’s ! There is less references that the previous sites, but it’s a rigorous selection of the winegrowers. There will have few or no bad surprises !
– finally, the wines from Alsace seduce you. I have what you want with Alsace Vintage ! A menu directly targetted on the cepages, the choice is fast. And there is a superb originality: a selection of wines in accordance with the food. Then, you have a harmony dish-wine without fault
6) Wines of world: simply Vins du Monde !
A website really simple, an offer of almost 700 bottles and some unobtainables wines ! From the classics Argentinians to Australians, make a world wide tour passing by Cyprus, Mexico or Japan.
Bonus: an interactive globe to choose your country…and to revise your geography.
Obviously, it’s a no-exhaustive list, so if you know others quality websites, don’t hesitate !
Pour les vins rares et anciens, j’ajouterai le site Comptoir des Millésimes qui offre un choix plus restreint mais à des prix plus raisonnables.
Merci pour ce rajout. Je l’avais repéré également avec des prix effectivement plus doux…
